My apologies, somehow I misunderstood him with you, not nice, I regreat.
You keep using Blizzard as an example, honestly it blows my mind you don't get it.
There is a HUGE difference between "trying and not always succeeding" versus "not trying at all".
Blizzard actively attempts to shut down private servers, that's a matter of fact. They even agreed to open a vanilla server not so long ago in order to stop the private vanilla servers.
They send cease-and-desist letters, file lawsuits, and pursue legal action whenever it is viable even if they don’t win every single case.
CipSoft, on the other hand, has not even tried ONCE. In fact, when their core engine was leaked in 2007 with full debug symbols at a time when Tibia was at its absolute peak, guess what? they still did not sue lol. They did not even attempt to reclaim that intellectual property, and did not launch any meaningful legal campaign, nothing. At most they sent some mails to Dennis asking to give it away, but they just left it as it was.
If there was ever a moment where legal action would have been obvious, justified, and easy, that was it. They CHOSE NOT TO. And they also chose not to open any vanilla server, which would instantly kill most of the successful vanilla servers out there.
So comparing Blizzard’s legal difficulties and behavior to CipSoft’s behavior and lack of interest (laziness) in this matter is simply low IQ.
