How is it possible that people are getting hacked because of using Ventrilo and/or TeamSpeak?

I'm not trying to hack people, I'm trying to get verifications and proofs before I use the program.

That's not possible. Only if it's a hack inside the ventrilo. Just don't download from thepiratebay and you'll be fine

I guess they offer a guild to have a guild channel with password on their ventrilo server and then they track the ip from people using that channel and hack them in some way.

The Admins can see your IP.. I doubt they can do anything with it though, they can ping you and spam TXT2SPEECH Binds but thats about it..

There's a hax0r site faking the ventrilo official page with virus, that's all I know

Ventrilo and Teamspeak stores the admin login information inside an unencrypted file, so if you store this file under /var/www and with CHMOD that is accessable to everybody on the internet, then you can get hacked.

Otherwise it's perfectly safe.
