Today the goal was to raise the profit on players, without specifically rising loot rate. For this there's a new system added to our server, a system that gives potions and piggy banks as extra loot from monsters, based on their skull. We already tested it yesterday, with very low chances and that gave us a first sight of how it has to be configured.

We also decreased the monsters extra HP, it was multiplied by 0.025 and now we changed it to 0.020 that is a very noticeable change.

This is how we're going to start implementing it from today 18/08/2023. All changes have been already applied since 7:00 a.m. GMT -4 Chile (server save). We also added some dustbins to the depots and temples to avoid the excesive ammount of trash (mostly, piggy banks).

We have made a lot of new improvements. First we added the old TFS 0.4 void Creature::goToFollowCreature() to improve monsters scape routes. And I also recorded a video of the warlock's reaction now that the change has been applied.


We also fixed a little bug where some monsters looted items with strenght 0 due the implementation of extra potions/piggy banks script.
And finally, we raised our loot rate X3 according to the feedback received the last 2 weeks. I appreciate the help of players who tracked the experience and loot of many caves in order to help.

We changed the % of chance to life steal and mana steal with weapons, to 100%. This means that every hit you do will life steal or mana steal if the item has this attribute. Also we had to nerf fishing; it was too good for level-up because of our monster fishing system (now items will give +1 of fishing every 10 of strenght).

We're also aware that some players needs more information about our legendary quests. For this we're elaborating a new page on our website to show them all, informing their reward, item strenght, location, and more. This will be avaible very soon on our website and will be announced here aswell.

About our 4th continent, Macalania, it's already uploaded on the server and getting ready to be open for players. We will use the month of October to do a depth review of this new piece of map, that will have it's own teleport room, depot, etc. such as the other continents (Kilika, Mi'hen, Thais).

When season nr.221? Cant wait for reset
Just to clarify we're not going to reset. Things have gone well and the systems have not caused problems as happened in previous editions (such as 2022, and early 2023). We're happy because we have achieved a real good stability for the server being online from 1 July to this date, October 2, without a single critical error. Here's a resume of September charts.

I'm very happy today because we we're able to enhance the upgrade a system a little more thanks to @Nokturno.

He did an excellent job by updating core.lua, now equipments are able to stack similar attributes, this means that an amulet, an armor, and a shield can add shielding, for example, and they're going to be raised without any bugs onEquip. This doesn't mean that Greed had this bug running on the server, since attributes of melee skills, distance fighting, magic level and shielding on Greed we're added on a single ITEM_SLOT, that is weapon on this case (melee weapons, wands/rods, bows/crossbows respectively) and shields (for shielding).

This will open us infinite possibilities, such as creating a new class of items that holds 3 atributes (mythic items 👀), or making more random attributes for each slot. We will think about this possibility and discuss with players to see on which way we're going to move on.

In other news. Our attribute of cast missile on hit wasn't working how we expected. For this reason we switched the method to cast missile on attack. This have been already tested and worked perfectly. So now, every vocation will be able to get some extra damage from rings, amulets, and weapons by unlocking this attribute on their items, this is specially fun because you'll be able to throw 5 extra hits at once if you have this attribute unlocked twice in your amulet, twice in your ring, and once in your melee weapon.

All the equipments of the server have been automatically updated with this changes.

Loot is back to x3, today 2/11/2023. We also achieved 4 month online. Here's our October charts with 98.78% of uptime and 121 points in otservlist.org.

I tracked the memory usage at the side. This was the outcome, i'll be tracking with more players this week, but it seems to be hold at 80%. If this memory usage can be holded at 80% like it's shown in the video i'll keep it (or also try lower values, will see...)


I also updated GreedOT and now the creatures will be spawned even if a player is blocking the respawn. Source:

Also reduced the following intervals to:

Server back online! We will be monitoring memory during the day but it looks much better. What do we change? First we changed source, changes here: Commits · ralke23/Greed-TFS-1.5-Downgrades (https://github.com/ralke23/Greed-TFS-1.5-Downgrades/commits/8.60/) And second, we used a debugger to find which scripts would be causing lag, here's an example of one running at 9k ms (it was immediately removed).
