Didn't crash, hold up. Well this one never happend before.. it's online, not lagging, no crash but can't log in.

Wow, figured it out. My IP Changed randomly again mid way thru? Well now I learned I should always restart after 12hour uptime.

Back online.

Very weird. Your ISP changes your IP so often lol.

I plan to try to finish the Rizo quest when I get home today.

Awesome lol.
I am actually kind of scared of when people start dropping their backpacks.

yeah, this is really fun, it'll ruin everything if people drops backpacks, but when you sneak people when they are hunting it'd be a cool concept to drop BPs.

Yea that is why we haven't added dropping BPs in yet.
We will figure out some middle-ground.
We want players to be able to hunt down and kill enemies, but also be able to have massive wars.

It might be best just to make it easier to profit, so the average player has extra money. Then if they dropped their backpack a few times. They can just buy more pots, rope, shovel, etc.

Sounds like a nice idea, but than there's no fun in looting someones backpack, since it won't be a profit unless there carrying something nice in it.

Potions can get expensive, plus you'll have creature loot on you if you've been hunting.
Plus I have been thinking, we should make it so you have to go back to town before you can upgrade your T1s. Then every hunt you would come back to town with ALL your loot and then sell/upgrade them all, then go back to hunting.

In this case if you killed someone while they were hunting you'd loot all the T1s they have looted so far.

Or make it so you have to use ACTUAL "Upgrade Kits" to upgrade each item, so you could carry them with you and upgrade while you hunt, but if you were killed you'd drop all the upgrade kits you had on you.

I can see many power abusers with this.. I can already see people just camping town entrances or something waiting for people to come.

Or you could always focus on other things than PKing, RoA used to have a great story line, most of the people on it now don't even know why it's called The Rise Of Abbadon. Not everyone is interested in watching kids bot for dominance online.

What is wrong with that?
With the bounty hunter system, anyone who abuses power and kills No Shields often will be able to drop actual Equipment they are wearing. Not just their backpack.

We have to balance and make every aspect of the server fun. Almost everything from the old RoA will be re-scripted (to be better) and put back in. AND we will add more quests, puzzles, and lore on top of that.

You should add a command where you can check a counter of all items and it'll tell you how many times you've broken that item.
Like

T1 Wand : 55 times
T1 Sword 32 times
T2 Legs 3 times

etc.

It's just an unneccesary thing, but it'd be a fun addition! :)

Also like

!highscores brokent1crossbow
!highscores brokent4wand

to see a toplist of how many of those players have broken.

This will be in later, but it isn't a priority yet.
We will have this done before we start working on the 50-99 area.

Will be interesting to be able to see how many of each item is on the server.

A huge part of me wants to put up the exact exact replica copy of the original ROA based from 8.1 server and watch how:

1. No one gave a sh!t about the storyline since the only way you would actually know the storyline was, being able to get access to the library in each city which had 7 books where you would have to sit there and read each one to know anything. If you could explain why it's called ROA and what the general storyline is, I would be VERY impressed.

2. How the storyline wasn't even incorporated with the gameplay other than changing the names of a couple of monsters

3. See how unbalanced and useless a majority of the 40 vocations were.

4. How if you didn't donate for t5, you would basically sit a tree and lumberjack it down every 5minutes until you got enough tokens to buy t1, and keep doing that until you got eq.

5. How boring it really was.

At the end of the day, I still will be bringing the original aspect of ROA back but everyone has to realize that, this era of ROA won't be the same one you saw 5 years ago.

Dropping backpacks on death is a bad idea, here's why:

It would remove the ability to have mass wars which are tons of fun, wars are a healthy part of good server, dropping your backpack after 1 death lowers your ability to return to the fight.

It will promote making alts just to kill people to steal their loot, a lvl 20 alt that has a level 50 main can easily replace t2 items, but a fresh level 20 who is just starting out on the server cannot just as easily replace his loot and potions.

In short dropping backpacks promotes low level pking, making alts to kill low level players, lessens new players ability to compete, and removes the ability to have fun wars.

Low level PKs is fun, if you can die by low level PKs then your character probably doesn't have much to lose anyway, OR you were botting.

If someone is annoying me, and I kill them now, they bearly even care, they will come back over and over again while I hunt, and I can kill them 500 thousand times and no one would care, it would simply make ME waste my potions, and I would gain nothing from killing him.

If he dropped his backpack, he would think twice before stealing loot, attacking my monsters, killing sorcerer's summons, etc.

the guy is actually saying that lvl 50 will just make alt lvl 20 char with good weapon and drop newbie lvl 20...Those will quit due to their inability to compete agaisnt other player having main chars.. In the short term it doesnt matter..in the long run,you dont want to lose as many player as i think your gonna lose.

Before making any big changes, you need to get a player vote to pass first, players opinions is more important than the GM's. If the majority votes they like the idea then go ahead, if most say no, then I wouldn't recommend making it like that.

Correct, i already have 3 knights training in-case they are dumb enough to implement it, all i will need is t2 weapon and t1 set and those are super easy for me to replace. :P
