OtLand Pictures that are not allowed!

Hello folks.

When I went trough the forum, I have seen some nasty avatars around here, these are mostly sexuality (*where sex organs are fully being shown*) and gruesome tinted avatars. These images aren't appropriate to be on a public forum like OTLand where everyone can have access to.
The same applies to images posted in a thread.

If you would see any sort of those avatars I mentioned then you should report them right away with the report function and we will take care of it...

OtLand New staff members.

The staff recruitment board has finally been closed for this time. Unfortunately I have not had enough free time to leave comments in all the threads, but I didn't really base my decisions on what was written in the threads but more on contributions from the user, their activity in the section they applied for and their reputation (no, not reputation points) on the forum.

The new moderators are:

Security POT security warning!

Recently it was found, there's an important security hole in POT (for newbies: Gesior/Unnamed AAC uses it) which displays database connection information. Here's a fast solution for XAMPP users from Xampy, which everyone using POT for their AAC should apply:

(...) I will tell you how to prevent hacks in your server:

MySQL Users
Go to C:\xampp\htdocs\pot and open the file OTS_DB_MySQL. Go to line 96~ and:

There is no specific template on how your post should look, you are free to structure it as you like and provide what information you feel is necessary for us to know.

OtLand Happy birthday, OtLand! Two years!

Last year at 28th May, OtLand's birthday, we had approximately 10,000 registered users and at that time, we didn't expect to have more than 20,000 members by now. But as you can see on our user count, we have managed to reach over 40,000 users! This pretty much proves that OtLand has grown faster this year than in the first year, and it's still growing !

We'd like to thank everyone for still being around and supporting us. Especially the Donators, we've received a lot of...

OtLand Updates #1

Hello!

As mentioned in this announcement, we promised you some updates to OtLand. We've just started with those updates now, but instead of applying all the updates at once we will apply changes from time to time so we can receive decent feedback from you members for the changes we make.

Today the Mapping board was moved from the Art section to the OpenTibia section and a subforum named Competitions was created. The arcade scores have been reseted to give other members a chance to...

OtLand Blogs & Upcoming updates!

It has been a while since I last posted an announcement, that is because I've been busy with many other things. It's time to focus on keeping OtLand up to date again.

Today we updated all our outdated plugins such as vBSEO, and we also purchased the vBulletin Blog plugin. You can use it as a personal blog, or group blog together with other members if you're developing a project and want to post teasers etc. Blogs can be found here: http://otland.net/blogs/. It will be possible to...

Security A warning to everyone who's running XAMPP.

I've recently seen alot of users getting hacked, so I've used some of my free time to look into this and I found a "security vulnerability" in phpMyAdmin which comes with XAMPP. The control user pma comes with an empty password as default, and XAMPP does not alert the user about this.

I'm not going to explain in details how you can take advantage of this vulnerability, but to explain it in a single sentence: the user pma has more permissions than it should have.

NOTE: The...
