Keep in mind, I'm not writing this to offend anyone, I'm doing it because I believe in second chances and that even OT's can change.
The server is nothing like I had hoped.
I thought it would be the RPG server of the year, I was 99% certain that I would enjoy this to the maximum.
I believed that finally, after this long period of waiting for a good custom OT to get online, we would all be overwhelmed by all the unique features and vocations.
Let me tell you.. I was wrong.

At first I didn't have much time to spend on the OT, so I didn't. And I didn't think twice about it because I had other things to do.
But then I had some spare time and decided to give it a shot, since I was one of the players on the alpha, which I enjoyed very much, btw.
The alpha was very cool, we were 4-5 people all the time. I was invited twice to join a group to try some dungeons. I played bard, and it was challenging and fun. All the new spells, the bosses etc.. We even wiped a few times.
But, when I logged in to the official release. It was no longer alpha, no longer beta. This was the real deal. This was supposed to be the server I had been following, the custom RPG server of the year.
I was hyped.. For 5 minutes.. Then I logged in.. I saw TPs.. Not only to monsters, but even to quests.. training knights.. I was like.. "Did I enter the wrong IP on my IP-changer?!".
But then I played anyways, because I had nothing to do. Later on I checked the donation shop, I was thinking if there were any vip doll or something that could give me an advantage in leveling.
Once I checked the donation shop, there were SO much more than "gold account doll". There were whole donation sets. These donation sets were apparently the best items ingame.
Anyways, stupid as I am, I bought a donation set to my character and the difference was huge. The damage, the survivability, everything had been increased by huge amounts.
I even started liking it, ofcourse. I was overpowered, compared to the non-donors.
It went a few days, I still liked it. I grinded poi from level 100-220 in a couple of hours. Then radiants were released and me and my team decided to go there instead, because the EXP was so much better.
We were there for a few hours and that was kinda everything we did that day. Fun huh? No.

Disappointments (Imo):
1. There are TP's to everything.
2. The vocations aren't balanced for shit.
3. The server is a moneygrab, there's no denying it. I mean, cmon? You can buy the best set available for 20€.
4. I'll write more as I think.

Remember, this is all in my opinion. You may have your opinion, so let me have mine.

Thanks for the feedback <3

Not the best set. Better set lootable in-game.

Sorry the server wasn't the type of server you liked. I cant make everyone happy and I am sorry that it excludes your passion. I can understand the disapointment if it's not what you expected

Unfortunatelly, I cant agree more with Shade. This OT is all about finding a team of similar lvls to you, enable share exp and go PG. At 150 lvl I gain 2-3 lvls per POI room and while im on my facebook, cus all I need to do is follow somebody and remember to hit mobs from time to time. Not to mention non donor players needs to spend weeks looking for items similar to what donors do from begginning. You said its not about making a quick buck, well apperently it was a lie. Giving midgame gear, which boost a little gaining lvls early on and few miscs and mounts would be enough to keep most expensive host. Instead there is endgame gear available in shop so money comes to your wallet. And those TPs to spawns... after looking into your mapping threads I was sure we will huge map to explore. We got a city and teleports. So its kinda frustrating if you advertise unique RPG, balanced server with no intention to make some money and what you release its basicly evo with few extra features and nice city.

Seriously some of the spawns are nicely mapped too. You forgot to mention that xD

The MC's were banned by a CM. They were not ours. We sent an email to Lukasz already showing him our logs. Thank you for this report to our CM as the 7 mc's were banned and removed.

Those are prolly someone's multiclients to gather archlight tokens. Design issue.

And the new map pieces are all custom-made for the server. If people are providing, free to use, map pieces, why not use them? If Peroxide offered people to use a lot of what he maps, almost every RPG server would have them.

I can see your point of view but going dragon lord on 10 servers in a row and meeting same spot is pretty boring.

This community was once called OPEN Tibia meaning everyone would help together and share their work to make as much servers as possible to have fun on and make it so anyone can do it if he really wants. I don't see anything bad in copying pieces that have been released for this very purpose. If you as a player see some pieces too often, it's probably because they are good. Deal with it or make your own unique OTS and see the time consume that comes with it. Oh, wait! You would still be copying from Cip...
See what I'm saying? Don't keep saying "this is copied from that", but rather enjoy the server as it is and if you don't like it move on to another one. That is what OT is all about: Freedom :)

Those account's aren't his. He's not duping his numbers. Those accounts are mine. They are there to gain Archlight Tokens as it is the easiest way to attain them. If he wanted to dupe numbers, he'd make accounts to places you couldn't reach. Or just easily edit his server numbers.

Anyway, I'm going to post my thoughts about this server because like Shade, I was extremely hyped for it. I have nothing against the staff, even if I have been harsh in words. It is mainly out of frustration due to me thinking this would
be it. This would be the OT to kill my time. It is not.

Archlight was advertised as a Custom RPG, with custom classes, spells, monsters, items, you name it....

Except it's not. At least, not enough to in my opinion.

Classes
Let's start with the classes. The classes are real tibia classes with a few adjustments, and I really do mean a few. For example, I am a berserker. Cool! No. I'm a knight with 2 custom spells. I have a spell that hit's like an Exori from real tibia, then applies a bleed effect that does not scale whatsoever. I also have a lifesteal buff that steals a % at random of my HP pool per attack. That's it.

THAT'S LITERALLY IT

The bard class has to be the most custom of all the classes, but it is literally just the party buffs that real tibia classes have, removed from said classes and given to the bard. I believe the bard has like 2 custom buffs not from real tibia, and a wave that is also custom (for damage).

The archer has literally one spell for DPS that is custom, and it's a projectile that hits in the shape of an Explosion rune. He has a snare shot which can be useful as times, but rarely used. Oh and a haste buff that nobody uses due to the fact that it gets overridden by the other stronger Distance buff.

Just from those examples alone, it kind of shows either laziness or inability from the developers. I find it hard to believe that a Custom RPG server thinks that adding 1-2 spells constitutes a custom class.

Monsters

The monsters are all real tibia monsters, except for very few. And you can tell which ones are custom, because they're a joke in terms of design (damage, loot, experience, health, etc). For instance, the Corrupted Hydras were the best experience for awhile due to the fact that while they hit extremely hard, they also have such a small amount of HP. By the time you take one hit, it's probably dead. Then after you finish that part, you start hunting at PoI (because a Custom RPG needs PoI). After you hunt there, you're bored because nothing else is worth hunting.

Then they release a patch that added a couple of custom spawns, with custom monsters. Cool, I thought. Wrong again. These monsters have such stupid ratios for everything that it's a pain to even think about hunting these monsters. There's only one spawn that was worth doing (Enraged War Golems) and only because it has the same issue Corrupted Hydras had (little HP, ridiculous damage). None of these are worth soloing (other places give better exp/loot and are less difficult to kill), which means you're stuck hunting in groups. Which leads into the next stupid system: party hunting.

Party Hunting

For some reason, the developers believe that this server should require large groups to benefit from hunting. If you play this server by yourself, you will literally be left in the dust. There is no way a solo player can compete with a party. The larger the party, the better experience for everyone. If you have different classes in said party, you gain even more experience. This sounds great, right? You get to encourage people to party and play. The problem comes from the fact that the numbers are extremely off (I'm talking about 10x more experience from partying, which doesn't seem like much until you start killing everything immediately). Grab a bot, grab a couple of shooters, and just follow the tank around. The experience divide is so massive, that it keeps all of my team (around 12 players) from hunting for exp. There is no reason for us to even attempt to waste resources on hunting alone as the experience is so shit.

Want to see how bad it is? I leveled alone from level 1-120. I peaked at about 120 and it just was hell to grind. Someone else started the day after me, was level 80 when I went to bed. By the time I woke up (8 hours), the person was level 250. Not only that, but so was EVERYONE in that party (about 12 players).

Having party hunts is fun and rewarding and should be encouraged. It helps players bond and have fun together. The problem is that this is mandatory, not optional. Although tibia is a social game, there are a large amount of people who play solo or in small groups (4 people max). If those people are left out to rust, it's a bad design.

Last but not least, the worst thing of all

Donation Power

I get it. People want to make money to pay for server costs and the cost of development. I understand these concepts. But this is not how you do a donation page/system. In fact, it looks like more effort was made into having people donate than there was in actually making a good server. The donations are straight up the best items in the game. Nothing competes with it and hasn't. Sure, there's rumors of people saying "Oh, it's dropped in the Ramparts 2". The problem is, you'll never get to actually doing it without donor gear, as it's still hard as shit for people in full donor gear TEAMS. My buddy Flatlander, from Otland, was kind enough to donate a couple bucks to this server to help them out, because he encourages people to attempt to make custom servers. I say this because with the points he received, I was given a full Donor set by him. The Donor Set literally doubled my DPS. It gives a whopping nearly 40 skills to axe/sword/club and 20% protection to EVERYTHING. It also gives bonus regeneration effects. My class scales with Weapon ATK (or so I heard), and they basically nerfed the damage due to it being extremely strong (1 shotting people). This is mainly due to people having Axes with 100+ ATK and 40 extra skills. So now that they nerfed the class, if you don't have Donor Gear to be normal, you're even worse off.

The gear in game is barely edited, making it garbage compared to Donor and even the custom shop in-game sells gear at such ludicrous prices (200 Archlight Tokens a piece, which is about 66 hours of being online.). The other gear that is sold uses Dungeon Tokens as a currency, and is also nowhere near Donor levels.

It's not as bad as some servers in terms of raw stat differential, but it's extremely broken in the context of the server.

Other

So many things are bugged and unpolished. Tons of holes/ladders/stairs don't work. The event's have bugs (people lost tons of levels/skills from a PvP event). Stupidly designed systems are so easily to abuse (Archlight Token MCs, Skill Potion MCs, Dungeon Token MCs). There are a ton of chests that don't trigger quest storage IDs, so you can do them every server save. Pots/Spells get altered while playing, leading to multiple deaths. Rollbacks were constant. Quests are still bugged/don't work properly. Balance is awful and has no real direction in sight. The training room had multiple movable places that allowed people to push you from the trainer. The PZ zones allowed you inside if you were skulled in many places, with some remaining still to this day. Blessings didn't work for awhile, the NPC sold blessings at a higher price than the command, then AOL was added with blessings, even though nobody wanted it. The Upgrade System is very bland and only works with weapons that have ATK and DEF.

@Eiffel That is some huuuge feedback and I agree at some points of course. However when you are speaking about that there are still unpolished things, bugs and poorly designed custom monsters aswell as imbalance in classes or monsters being too weak I have to remind you: This server is developed by people who are doing this out of fun and/or ambiton. They didnt study game design nor graphics design to offer you great designed custom sprites. Also the aspect of balancing a game is something even big MMOs with companies backing them up still have problems with. Dont expect an individual freelancer to make up for this. Where should they take the balancing experience from? Where the experience of making as challenging bosses as some hardcore games have? That's right! The only way for them to earn it is through countless hours of testing and adapting to different circumstances. You cant expect to get a fully balanced server with challenging bosses from the start. What you can and should expect from every developer is the will to adapt and change.

You can expect balanced stuff AFTER they tell you they have been running a test server for a while, the level of unbalance on this server is ridiculous.

Not if the testserver was limited to a few people (as it probably was). Checking gameplay mechanics works even with a few, however balancing is such a huuuge thing that it cant possibly be fully done through just beta tests.

No, not fully, but you can't argue that this is a 'normal' case, there's no balance at all once you compare a regular player to a player who donated. Those items could have easily been tested and balanced correctly.

Thank you, we are actively working on this right now.

By the way, don't change donor sets (people that already donated for them will be upset)

The way to re-balance the server after release is upgrading items in the game to be more powerful.

I would suggest making the items you can buy with archlight tokens lootable by the elite monsters (except Corrupted Hydras, they are too easy to kill).

This way normal players will have a reason to hunt Elite Wyrms, etc, so they can get those items.

My opera started to tell me that your site is dangerous. Fix it.
