A lowrate will be hosted once everything is stable and works properly :)
There will also be much more updates and changes from me once this is done. Right now I'm too busy with coding all the tools and programs needed.

Nah, but maybe soon.
I'll continue to make announcements about progress.

what will the rate be?
Undecided, but there will be at least one as low as 1-2x and at least one around 10x.

im still waiting to play this server, probably its gonna be my last, im playing tibia over 15 years old and realots 3x was best of bests servers in my tibia carrer
i still remeber some people like zakaria,glenn,guziec,bjorn,danny,nick,baltzar dagorlad and few ones who always played realots. good times
does anyone know if they still playing or they gonna play there ?
 
I tried soloing the Desert quest. I'm a sorcerer and have a spellbook. Do I need all the other items aswell?

Hi there. You messaged me only 30 minutes ago, I was actually just about to finish answering when you decided to post here :p

Regarding your situation:
Your character Druid Malvado was cavebotting on larvas for 10 hours straight and was only level 20 or so when you started, so the right decision seemed to me to be to just delete the char.
You can still create another account, but please don't bot again (punishments are incremental).

The main reason why I only killed the other guy was because I caught him early, about 30 minutes in, so the advantage was not huge, and gave him a final warning. If he had been botting again he'd get deleted.


General update:
There's slow progress every day, but there's nothing too particular to mention.
I started out by not knowing anything about network programming (beyond a simple IRC bot), so this has been a ride for me.
I'm also still working on everything in one go, not one program at a time, so it's very hard to make an estimated time until finish and to post regular updates.
More likely one day I will be very close to fixing all of the programs at once, rather than posting updates everytime I finish 1 program, since like I said I work on all programs at once, since I get stuck in my thinking if I try to only work on one thing and get bored or tired.
I've also been looking at creating a new OTS from scratch that can much more easily be programmed and changed than any other OTS, but not spending a lot of time at it, just playing with the idea.

These have taken me a while since I'm completely new to network programming and I'd rather disappoint by being a bit late than making something with serious hiccups or bad security.

Most if not all of the custom items are released though, so I have those, and will be adding them in later on.
I've also been thinking of doing things like the old Haxoria/Hysteria setup as well (or a similar but different system I came up with).
But yeah, Realots.net was pretty dank. I hope I'll be able to provide something like it not too long from now.

  • For players who ever feel bored playing alone: Feel free to make a post about it here whether it's some real quest you'd like to try, or some boss monster or raid you'd like to see/fight, or if you're just missing someone to quest, hunt or play with, and I'll try to accommodate these requests (but no server edit/feature requests such as changing or adding npcs, items, etc).
    Personally I'd like to do DHQ, Anhi, Banshee quest and maybe more, as I've never done any of these on real or on Realots.
  • I've been working recently on whatever I feel like rather than all strictly Realots-related stuff. This has worked out much better for me.
    Just in the last 7 days I've successfully made a simple game server prototype, a tibiacam prototype and a pcap extractor tool prototype from scratch, letting me now watch in-game replays captured from basic network captures which puts us one step closer to having tibiacam (and server-sided captures) work with this server, and at the same time I've had fun doing it and learned some important things related to the design of the Realots server applications I need to finish (LS and QMS) without the old negative effects on my physical and mental health when I was stressing about all this Realots stuff and burning myself out.
    I'm also going to continue with the development of this game server for a while, but will likely get back to the LS and QMS applications relatively soon once I've got a good grasp on the connection management design.
  • I've been considering hosting some silly weekly events for fun, such as changing some stuff up every week without telling anyone what exactly I've changed and then let the players try to find out what has been changed and then hand out rewards to the winners (rewarding players with an eye on detail and people who remembers how the old real game actually worked), but I don't really think anyone would care or appreciate such events right now, so I've let these ideas pass.
    If you have a suggestion for a weekly event or something else fun to do that doesn't require too much work for me (like adding tons of custom items or npcs or custom areas etc), feel free to post your suggestion here.

Adding old epic loot unannounced can be fun as weekly event. Like a great shield as rare drop from a dragon lord. Or placing any item on the map such as winged helmet in Thais Lighthouse. You can give clues, use riddles to point players in the right direction.

I'll have a busy time ahead though. So you don't have to do it for me.

Always interesting to read updates about the progress :) honestly, the reason i dont play the server right now is simply because of the low m-level rate. I want to play but i simply dont have the energy to get mlevel 15 on a pally or mlevel 6 on a knight on a server thats gonna reset during the summer.

You say you dont want to add/ change much during the testphase, but please make this change in order to gain More players. Atleast double the magiclevel rate.

I also appreciate concern about the lack of players and your suggestion in trying to remedy this problem.
However changing the magic level rate is a complicated and problematic change to make on this server.
Changing it would currently require a full char reset since such changes only affect new characters.
This server isn't very customizable and I hope more players will start accepting this more and more as time goes on.
The main feature of this server is the realism and proper game mechanics completely lacking in other OTS. Other details such as skill and magic rates, soul points, mana rates, custom items, npcs, quests and areas will be fixed or added later.

That said I did make a new magical ring that can be bought from rashid that gives some magic levels temporarily (doesn't last forever) since you asked for it and it only took a couple of minutes.
However this won't take effect until next server save (11 PM CEST).

But please don't ask for more of these kinds of things until the new server is out and stuff though, sometime in the distant future.

Yeah, these are decent suggestions.

I was also thinking of weekly large raids like Ankrahmun Scarab Invasion, Thais Orc Invasion, Venore Elf Invasion, Darashia Undead Invasion and others, or boss spawns/raids (these are all noticeably different from OTS raids and bosses in terms of behavior/effects and damage), or weekly organized quests (free teleportation may be included) or group hunts or explorations in less well known places or dangerous places like Deeper Banuta, Forbidden Lands, Poi DLS and Demona for high levels, Dark Cathedral, Isle of Kings, Fibula, Tombs, Dragons and Giant Spider hunts for mid levels, and Dworcs, Mintwallin, Drefia, Tombs and other places for low levels.

Despite a decent amount of posts on here I'm not sure if there's enough players interested in any of this though, so it would really help if relatively active players could either post or like my post to show their interest or lack of interest to possibly get this or something else going.

I haven't hosted any ot myself so i had no idea it was much work. The ring sounds interesting!

It's an easy change to make on most OTS, but this server is special in both good and bad ways.
The good is that it's the only server that it's not a lie to say has 100% full and accurate map, quests, monsters, raids, npcs, items & item attributes, game mechanics, and much more.
In short it's the only full and authentic 7.7 real tibia experience that exists. Even Medivia is inaccurate (but is overall arguably still a superior server since it's much more customizable and performs better with very large number of players than mine/this one does).
The bad is that it's much harder to make a lot of changes to this server + there's no secure Query Manager software included with this server, so I have to write it myself and this is taking up most of my time.
