A good way to sink money could be if you could to use gold as an alloy or something in the forging process for tiered items. Which would let you use for example 3 t2 armor + X Amount of gold for 1 t3 armor This would make people more likely to sell off tiered items they aren't using right then...

Really like this idea, you could perhaps do away with gold altogether and deal in like Bags of Gold, Gold Ingots or Gold Nuggets.

I think straight up gold that an npc will sell you 1x access to a boss/boss scroll of varying difficulties. Which drop a combination of: Common: Tiered eq (depending on how hard the boss was and how much the scroll was) Commonish :Gems Rare : Maybe password papers (that change every few days)...

Unless this gold is coming directly from the player and not being generated upon the kill I can see this turning into people botting smurf accounts to kill off characters for easy gold.
