Agreed. The way things are allow people to join and become a member of a community - not have to fight for a place for a spot of 'acceptance'. Is the system perfect? No, welcome to the internet. But it's working pretty well.

The bottom line is that the people with a vision and a long term goal will make good OT servers. People with a short term goal and just personal wants (like GM) will fail. There will always be more of the latter than the former.

I wouldn't suggest this though, most home internet uplink's are sub 1MB. That won't be enough to be lag-free for long if you get over 40 players.

I think it comes down to the amount of effort it takes to create a custom OT. My goal is to create an environment that is different from the RL Tibia Maps, but not different to the OT community. I hope my server will draw some of the people who played the games for the same reason I used to play...

This happens to me too, when you try and open a chest when you have nothing (no backpack or bag) the items will not move to you. If you have a backpack, it will move into your backpack. This has never worked for me since I re-joined the OT community (a month ago).

If all you want to do is start a new world, you can share the same resources without using a hypervisor (which is what was previously suggested)by running the other world on different ports.
