From my perspective as a player, I know what I miss, and what’s what I added to this server. Some people miss hours of rune making talking to friends, some people miss low level PKing, everyone is different. My goal is to find those golden nuggets and improve them.

I feel the same way.

The community as a whole has definitely changed (we've grown up I guess), but if you can find the right balance, I think there are enough people around to form a community around it.

I played Tibia from around 1998 or 1999ish to 2008ish. I've tried to get back into rl tibia several times since....and I just really hate 85% of what they've done with it. It feels so hollow to me.

I've been saying for years, that I wish so bad that CIP would take a queue from Jagex, and release classic servers with a new direction and dev team.........but then again, the CIPSOFT of today would just ruin it and litter it with cosmetic crap and p2w features so that you can't tell the difference between it and some cheap Chinese mobile gacha game

So my methodology here is just that, what would tibia be if cipsoft released 7.4 again, and began to develop on it. I’m not trying to create a custom world or change any core mechanics, I simply want to improve what was there and develop without a direction towards yalahar content.

Oh I feel you! I am looking for a true balanced enjoyment. I mean im from same generation in my 30.. and phoh I grew up with Tibia. Have such great memories, on the smaller things.. hanging out, creating runes and go to hunt, deco my house. Go quests with friends... Basicly just chilling irl, in Tibia

Last years but especially last months, for me there is nothing to play.. You have 2 options for oldschool:

1) Heavy modded epic items, waving cyclops, smit systems, boss tokens chest opening gold broze silver bullcrap people have so much gold macroing manafluids en go hunt again with 500 bp SD. It's almost like chinees robot hack and slash game. And get bored after 5 time same hunt.

or..

2) x1. x1 take so much effort, 10 new servers which will also die within couple of months. It's just all lost time. There is nothing in between.. nothing. X3 / x5 is so perfect.. it take effort, but we all have limited time due to familiy etc. but still have to put in the work to achief something a lvl 100 is still remarkable.. you not on highscore position 20043 if u didn't played for 1 day. And people play like a community.

Well I am happy to see there still people around feeling the same, I suppose. Well anyways, I will try out your server! seems cool!

Mid 30's. exactly! the big part of any project it's the player base. If i would open any project, would be focus on people that are already old, mature. It's way better to manage and would avoid so many problems. It's hard, at this age, to engage in this game or find anything really interesting to play and dedicate time nowadays that, lets be honest, its short and, to be even more honest, nobody have patience to play something like this anymore.

This server feels really smooth. Aiming/walking/etc. It feels better to me than any other classic era server I've played in that regard. (At least in recent memory). It's solid.

There are also a huge amount of custom edits to the map, and so far they all feel like they belong. Not hacked together and janky. Existing places expanded, mysteries, etc.

This is also the beta, and is a fantastic foundation to leap from already.

There will be alot of changes and tweaks during the beta(which is the point of beta), but the direction of this server, imo, will rival every other old school server that exists with time.

Staff seems on top of it. A real passion project.

It's not perfect, but it's solid, scratches the nostalgia itch really nicely while naturally adding a little flavor that did not exist during this era.

It seems like the goal of the devs here is to use this base, and do a jagex move and take the old game, and evolve it in the way it should have been. I'm down with that personally, and am looking forward to see where this project goes.

The community is small right now, but really awesome. Seems like it's mostly middle aged dad's . Everyone is helpful. Chat has been active. Pvp events have already been alot of fun even at low levels.

What more do you want in this type of server? Especially in the beginning.

If you are looking for a 7.4 era community to play with, this one is a fantastic choice.

That's my honest take from just a random middle aged dad with an affinity for this era of tibia.

You hit the nail on the head, I intentionally released this as a BETA instead of a first official era because I knew there would be issues. So far, the issues have been very few, and easily fixable. Very happy to see players enjoying a project I put so much time and effort into.

Decided to give the beta go since the custom things caught my interest but keeping the 7.4 vibes and mechanics. Enjoying it so far.

decided to try also, had problems with the HD client and cip. I was psyched to check it out... Was a bummer, anyone else got a problem? Then i tried to standard client... Overall, not bad. Liked de minimap with sprites, but dislike the -1, -3, damage numbers. Sadly, i didnt felt engaged yet... Hopefully this will change!

Curious, what problems did you have with the HD client?
