Hello there,

I have been fascinated by the Tibia community and the rich variety of servers available, and I would like to create something unique. Although, I am not entirely sure where to begin.

There seem to be several distributions available, like TFS and OTX. Which one would you recommend fo; someone starting out? What are the key differences between them?

I have basic knowledge of programming, but I’m not very familiar with Lua or C++. What resources would you suggest for learning these languages, specifically in the context of OT server development?

What are the best tools for creating custom maps? I’ve heard of RME (Remere’s Map Editor), but are there other tools or resources; that could help me create a unique world?

Balancing and Content Creation: How do you balance the game to make it enjoyable for players? Are there any guides or best practices for creating engaging quests, items, and NPCs?

What are the key considerations when it comes to hosting an OT server? Are there any reliable hosting services you’d recommend, or is it better to host it myself? Additionally, what are the common pitfalls ;in server maintenance and how can I avoid them?

Also, I have gone through this post; https://otland.net/threads/need-help-tips-regarding-my-own-golang-server.233337/ which definitely helped me out a lot.

How do you build and maintain a community around your server? Are there specific platforms or strategies that have worked well for you?

Thanks in advance for your help and assistance.

tfs 1.4.2 , otcv8 GitHub - OTAcademy/otclientv8: Mirror of official OTClientV8 (https://github.com/OTAcademy/otclientv8), fastest start at c++ W3Schools.com (https://www.w3schools.com/cpp/default.asp) , map editor: GitHub - OTAcademy/RME: OTAcademy fork of Remere's Map Editor repository. best pracise is to keep things as simple as possible, the more complicated ots the less drug addicts on your server = less players,
don't host ots yourself use dedicated server,
to build a community you need to first have an idea to make a post about your server that is going to be <never> or in 5 years ready, then they join your discord and wait for nothing like 20 other discords i'm in.
