Date numbers

I want to know, how can I turn a specific date into numbers?

Like..

date('jS F Y',1193962590)

returns 1st November 2007
So, which number returns 11th October 2007...

I have the same issue so I just checked out PHP.net manual.
EDIT: I might have read your question wrong so I don't know if this helps or not..

The date() function turns the number into a date, I wan't to do the opposite.... turning the date into a number..

The format is Hour / Minutes / Seconds / Month / Day / Year.
