Managing A Dedicated Server At Home

Well, earlier today my father let me use his dedicated server. I have to set everything up now so I need some tips. Where should I place the server? Does it have to be in a cool area so it wont overheat? I need general tips, on how to set up everything so I can manager a ots. So any advice/tips would be great aswell.

well not cold but not hot and check ot all time cuz sometimes it turns off by it self ooh..
you could do something like mm a reset each time.. so dont be so laggy xd

Alright, well I put it somewhere cool and left it on for a couple of hours and it was still cool. Using Ubuntu is a hassle though >.<
