New Map Editor

I hope you keep working on the OTC, no offense Fallen.
I am OVER-IMPRESSED with it and I cannot wait for it to finally complete.

I already have a couple ideas of user-made addons/plug-ins to share with other people.

I should recognize the main developer, edubart, you've done an incredible job!

From what I understand, the benefits of using otclient means nothing to him because he says that he is doing this for learning purposes and therefore prefer to work in C/C++ than Lua. Using otclient would be very beneficial, and the map editor could be finished within two months. As it looks right now I'm not really expecting it in 2012.

No offense to Fallen, but writing code for the map editor at the same time as you're learning isn't really a good idea if you actually want to finish this project in reasonable time and have it usable. You will be rewriting code countless times because you keep learning new and better ways to do things; you will be writing inefficient code because you don't know everything OpenGL has to offer so you might not know what the best options are.

That's the thing, trials and errors, it becomes the best teacher and nothing gives a better learning experience than to learn with a personal self-made project.

As promised, here are some screenshots during dev-days which are no-interwebs-days-busy-life:

nice improvement since last time, continue further posting of updates on your progress more often :p:p

It's great, I think those improvements are really good.

Let me know, how is the item palette organized?

Let me know, how is the item palette organized?
It was just a test for drag and drop to map (draw an item to the canvas). But well, i'm planning to make it a tree, like last time but even better, seperated stuff, a dock for each item category (type), etc. Expect more screenshots this week.

Hehe a better categorisation should be great. A smaller raw-pallet is needed for me, because my RME crashes sometimes when I enter the RAW pallet. Nice job you have done so far!
How much smaller would you go then? When I see the icons now, it's fine as it is.

Sorry for the delay :p here's a screenshot I took recently when making spawn loading:
