Just my 2 cents on the to me unfair complaints you are making.
Not here to go into discussion, just to let out a positive look on how the server is going.

To be honest the server isn't perfect, but it has an unique approach to it and I quite like it.
And with me there are a lot of others that enjoy the game...
Lets hope you like the crashes and the rollsbacks aswell ;)
Keep wasting your time on crack-ots.

The only reason Jere and Punio are streaming this server is because they are getting paid, GOOD!
There is no way in hell Jere would stream this much if it wasn't a good amount of cash involved, same goes for Punio.

Have fun wasting your time here and once the streamers quit I will see this ots hitting rock bottom in 1-2 days.

Im back motherfucker.

First of all lets begin with last weeks news.

The IRL furry GM that even uses furry outfit ingame decided to go on vacation. I mean they already made so much money off this server so who gives a shit what happens right? People been botting for 72h+ straight without anything happening.
Not that it makes any difference since the loot rate seems to be more than 10x. Me and a friend were making 100k+ a night at level 30~.
Even botting rps with spears in backpack in middle of spawn since there are literally like 10 players and 3 of them are streamers.

I will give you the REAL online list:
paid melfo
XXXXLpaid jere
not paid rando streamer
2 guys rpging
5 guys just using this client as messenger
50-100+ afk brazoly runemakerinos
100+ spoof chars in dp training

Lets get to the shit that you will see ingame.
You have random creatures spawning in the middle of the ocean, maybe this is new feature, creatures on water give u 5x dungeon tokens but u can never loot them. Maybe new donate item coming soon?
However items are impossible to get since all items from quests have been removed and replaced with cash meaning that as a low level you have to do quests/hunt and funnel all your cash to the highest levels. And they in turn spend it to gain even more exp/loot. Balanced yes.
Check any streamer hunting, they loot like 5-10 legendary items every 2h hunt.
Notice also on highscores list that the discrepancy between the first 10-15 characters and the rest is FUCKING M A S S I V E.

Want to play EK? You will hit like a truck except you will heal 250 with UH even at lvl 55-60 XD.
RP? Go play lottery you dont know if the vocation will be stuck being broken like first 2-3 weeks or they will nerf only spell you do damage with. They saw level 150 rp doing 1k~ with e spear and suddenly decided to nerf it now after people abused it for a month.
Mage? I dont even know what to say about this vocation on this server. You will have same HP as an RP, you will do like 3x more dmg than an EK consistently and since ur mlvl is gonna be boosted by 50% with ur items ur gonna heal the entire screen with 1 spell if you play ED.

In my 15+ years playing OTs I dont even remember any that was so unbalanced as this one lmfao.

I mean just look at the beginning of this thread. Profesorek got banned for using a feature that they could not even fix knowing what the issue was.
Not only that but then the owner decides that banning the probably only genuine streamer that is impartial is a good idea and tries to act all high and mighty towards him.
Idk if he is ignorant or just extremely cocky but either way thats a recipe for a disaster having someone like that in any position of power.
However its not like people care. Wait, what people? Log in and check if there is anyone below level 100 hunting. You will find 99% of the spawns empty and only people you will see are the makers spamming trade with their bot and never responding to PMs and the spoofed characters standing in depot training on dummies.

I have to say, all in all this is the shittiest server I have ever seen in my life turn a profit.
Cafums stamp of shit ots; CHECK.

I almost forgot, the passive skills system is fucking useless considering that this guy has not yet figured out that the tomes spawn on exact same location every day XDDDDDDDDDDDD. All high levels know them so as soon as they spawn 20~ tomes are found within 2 minutes.
Its almost like the entire server is made for melfo and jere and their friends. But idk wtf do I know right? =P

your mistake playing there, you have been warned @Cafumbre

Hey there!

We appreciate the feedback, even if it's a bit harsh. Running a server like this is a constant learning process, and we're always working to improve. For example, the recent Exori Con "nerf" was reverted immediately based on player feedback. If things aren't perfect, it's not for lack of effort. We've made adjustments based on player input and will continue to do so. Also, we have decided to not make any more vocation balancing unless is extremely needed.

As for the claims about favoritism, botting, or balance issues—these are simply not true. We take all feedback seriously, and changes are made for the benefit of the entire community, not just a select few. If you have specific suggestions or concerns, our Discord and Wiki are great places to get accurate info and contribute to making the server better.

By the way, this Sunday we’re celebrating our first month, and who knows? There might be a special event waiting for you! The only way to find out is to join us now.

So yeah, if you don't like a server that’s actively improving and listening to its players, definitely avoid clicking the link to the Eternal Odyssey website: Eternal Odyssey!

See you in the game!

I wont only shit on you, that wouldnt be fair. You have done some great work in terms of scripts and things that work here like skinning and crafting however it was bugged for a brief while.

But like someone said you have absolutely no idea how to balance anything dude. I am not even sure its favoritism at this point or idiotism.
You cant honestly have the most important thing on the server, tomes, spawn at the same location every time and be picked up by the same players for like a week straight and think that the system should continue that way?

Even that doesnt bother me too much, but it seems like you base the entire balancing off of the 2 streamers that play. What have you done for EKs?
I mean I understand you havent seen a single EK considering that there are like 2 80+ eks on the server, but still lol.

People wrote about this server, that it is old questlands which owner completely knows nothing about tibia and the mechanics + balancing.

I didnt play, I botted but even that became depressing since nobody came to check me or kill me.

back to otland after some time, playing few servers - tried this one, here are some of my thoughts:

i really like this custom features like skinning, monsters don't drop gold (only humanoids) so u have to skin them to profit. cool idea. making it a premium feature to auto-skin is a bit too much. u can't even put on hotkey skinning knife u have to aim from backpack if u don't have premium... i don't know how people can play without premium? is it fun to skin from bp?
ok so finally left rook, paladin gogo main. time to shoot some arrows. oops no bow. no bow in shop you need to craft and skill 12 in crafting... what? why? now i need to lvl up crafting before i can craft basic bow...
fuck it, time to buy some eq.
no market so only trade. ofc in trade 3 people selling the same shit. people selling only items with good rolls for a lot of money, its hard to buy white items as low lvl just to progress
u can't switch items in eq! wtf? have to take off item and put on a new one. is it a feature? lol
lvling spells... such a weird feature... for example a spell conjure arrow:
Level 0: Cost 25 mana. Conjures 10 simple arrows. Casts to Level up: 100.
Level 1: Cost 40 mana. Conjures 10 arrows. Casts to Level up: 271.
Level 2: Cost 50 mana. Conjures 10 sniper arrows. Casts to Level up: 738.
Level 3: Cost 80 mana. Conjures 10 tarsal arrows. Casts to Level up: 2008.
Level 4: Cost 140 mana. Conjures 10 onyx arrows. Casts to Level up: 5459.
Level 5: Cost 230 mana. Conjures 10 crystalline arrows. Maximum level.
So im lvling automaticly after x amount of uses, mana go up, cant use previous lvl... just, why? who thought it would be good idea to change spell cost the more u use it xD and yes, i understand the spells are also stronger but this concept of spells growing automaticly being more expensive to use is bizzare. would be great if i could choose what lvl spell i want to use

list could go on but just this premium feature seems predatory to me.

i do not recommend.

LMAO yeah cant switch items in EQ, been like that for a month. Even after several reports they cant seem to fix it.

And like I said, if you are under level 30 you will have an easier time botting to level 100 than buying any kind of EQ.

Its insane how strange this ot is and how little is available for lower levels when its 1x.

Hey, thanks for the shout-out on my scripting work! I appreciate the acknowledgment, even if it comes wrapped in a bit of criticism. It’s true—sometimes I mess up, but I’m quick to fix and improve things as needed.

As for your concerns about the Tomes of Knowledge, I’m really impressed you think they spawn in fixed locations. Here’s a little peek behind the curtain: every tome spawn is random within a massive area. It’s almost like I planned it that way to keep things exciting. Don't tell anyone. 😉

Here’s a snippet from the code that handles tome spawns:

LUA:
local spawnPos = Position(math.random(from.x, to.x), math.random(from.y, to.y), math.random(from.z, to.z))

As for the item EQ issue you mentioned, players have always been able to swap equipment from their backpacks to their inventory—so I’m not sure where the confusion comes from.

We’ve also recently added more low-level spawns, even in Rookgaard, and will continue to expand the game for all players. It’s funny you mention botting—I’m guessing that might have something to do with why you’re no longer on the server? Tortoises are a tough spot, aren’t they? 😄

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! I appreciate your feedback and understand that some of our custom features might not be everyone's cup of tea. We aim to create a unique experience, but we know that not all additions will resonate with every player. Your input is valuable, and we’ll keep it in mind as we continue to improve. Peace! ✌️

See you in-game (or not)!

I know you would like to take pride in your coding and so should you. However this seems to be the common problem with most people in IT.
If you create something that is intended to be hard in theory and in reality it simply turns out very easy, there is something wrong.
Like I said, they get found too quickly. If there are logs for it check the spawn locations or how quickly these tomes get found.
Any of those two will give you an answer that something is not right.

Regarding EQ, no they have not. It seemed to work on some equipment types for a short while but does not work anymore. Especially weapons and 2hand to 1hand and vice versa has always been bugged even from the first day.

Yeah I dont really mind getting banned, wasnt even running any scripts for gm detection since I was there for like 3 days and got tired of simply refilling and pking. Want me to tell you the name of all our characters? Im pretty sure you could easily find out if you havent already.

When it comes to low level spawns the places are not the issues. Its the ability to aquire equipment.
My opinion is that you have made it way too hard for lower levels to loot anything significant since they will be grinding low level tier shit for an eternity until they can start teamhunting.
Lets take an example, playing until level 40-50 you will mostly kill rotworms, trolls, cyclops, guards, perhaps dragons.
What are you going to equip? A legendary dwarven shield with 26 def? An epic scale armor with 9 armor?

Meanwhile you have lvl 100+ running around on ghastly dragons looting tier 2-3 dark armors with 15 arm and 10% physical resistance.
Your only option is to buy shit off high levels, which funnels their pging even more giving them an endless supply of money.
Its almost like capitalism but thats political and perhaps not the right topic to argue here.

I think you have a lot of potential if you can just swallow your pride and understand that you may be great at writing code but you have absolutely no ability at balancing this game.

out of all ur posts only those two points are true and it looks like u have 20-30lvl and thats all

server have flaws and gm definitely couldnt handle that big community and definitely server itself isnt ready for more than 50 players due to obvious errors and oversights as its so custom that they have to literally rework every single exisiting creature for mid-high lvl and they actually did with few monsters adjusting their loot but didnt finish every of em in time

also rule enforcement is kinda scuffed as gm is scared to ban top lvls for abusing certain stuff without reporting e.g ppl were selling creature products for 2x-3x price to regular npcs instead of grizzly adams and they DIDNT report it

top swe and rpg ppl abused stuff like no cd exori con/exori hur when they got to lvl 12 i theres rumour about infinite ssa from one quest and that these guys abused it aswell (seems so)

ppl were printing money in 4 man party on bosses since if u are in pt in duo one guy deal most dmg and somebody else finish monster to get double task kill count (fixed after 2 weeks or so) but people literally spammed 100 kill tasks for bosses (actually 50 kills) for 4 man party and just print stufff from bloodwebs, the many etc looting decent t2 gear no punishment and no fix in time easy solution would be making kills to get boss equal to those from rl tibia (or close to rl tibia) right when they notice ppl spam those tasks

up/down and overall running with monsters is too easy at some point that u can handle overlord dls at 40-50lvl with ease i've killed insane hero at 41lvl knight meanwhile such dl comboed me for 1800 when i tried blocking it at lvl 85 with some resistance gear obviously my uh for 430 didnt save me for second turn and insane hero was able to hit me for almost 1000 despite having 37% physical resistance if i tank it

jere was able to run and gfb 7 grims which one was elite because their long wave (not beam) and target is doing 1/4 of real tibia dmg and it was done at 90lvl mage xD

and so on theres plenty of stuff to be fixed/balanced and im looking for it as i had more fun playing this server than i had on tibiascape or soe rpg

Played 10 characters and all 4 vocations and everything I said has remained true since the start.
RP OP
EK healing shit
Mages most OP
Economy fucked since start
Too many spoofed chars/makers
Bank not working on all npcs
Random spawns in water
Seagulls and butterflies keep u pz
Its capitalist ots where gm dreams of trickle down economy working

Its a great server, IF he can balance shit. If it continues like this I stick to my opinion that its the worst OT I have played.

Just running around trying to do dungeons/hunting makes you depressed as you expect at some point to loot something but when you do its some shit like plate legs with 3% earth protection at level 50 and what the fuck do you do with them? Its not even worth picking up as the cap is not justifiable.
Whatever system he is using for tier loot is completely unbalanced as well. I would suggest changing the name to Eternal Inbalancia.

First off, I want to give a big shoutout to @Adposatnr for all the help and feedback—your input has really been invaluable in helping us refine and improve the server. It’s true, the systems we’ve implemented are complex, and they do require some fine-tuning.

@Cafumbre , I appreciate the more measured tone in your latest post. I get that there’s frustration, especially around balancing and loot, and I’m taking all of that into account as we continue to develop the server. We’re aiming for a system that’s fair and rewarding, and sometimes that means tweaking things as we go. We’re already on it, whether it’s adjusting loot, or fixing smaller details like bankers not working (seriously, if you post these kinds of issues on Discord, they'll likely be fixed by the next day).

Now, on a serious note: why is it a problem that levels 100+ are out there killing Ghastly Dragons and looting Tier 2-3 gear while lower levels are tackling easier mobs? Isn’t that the natural progression of an RPG? Higher levels tackle tougher challenges and get better rewards, while lower levels work their way up. Or am I missing something? I’m genuinely curious.

In any case, we’re committed to making Eternal Odyssey the best it can be, and that’s thanks to feedback from you guys. We’re on the path to the best version possible, and I’m excited to see where we go from here.

I think your own tone of talking down on the people genuinely concerned with your server as if you are a father talking down to his children is equally as unappreciative to them as their tone is to you, just an FYI.

Well, I’m concerned enough to reply, gather feedback, and ask about what I might not be aware of. Thanks for sharing your opinion—let's keep the focus on improving the server!

issue with ghastly dragons (and couple other high lvl mobs) is that they drop common lootbag items quite often e.g plate legs/dark armors so by hunting on them for a day u will most likely drop what u need till really high lvl (200+) while if u try to farm it on demons for example u will need to farm them for weeks to maybe get one rare t3 legs and it doesnt matter if its golden or plate legs as 2 armor is irrelevant here

thus either chance to loot better rarity should be much much higher for rare items or those items should have much better base stats

also when ppl farm t3 legs/armors with ease whats the point of upgrading t1 or t2 armor/legs? u can just collect 100k or more and buy uncommon legs with phys res and max hp/or mana leech and dont upgrade it as long as ppl can print these items from ghastly dragons (or other high-lvl mob which got shit lootbag items as really common drop)

Our global rarity system plays a crucial role in ensuring fairness across the loot system. Let me break down how it works and how it addresses the concerns raised.

Global Rarity System Overview

The global rarity system is designed to ensure that every item, regardless of its base drop chance, has a consistent probability of being rare, epic, or legendary. This system scales the rarity chances based on the item’s base drop chance.
  • Global Rarity Chances:
    • Common: 10%
    • Uncommon: 2%
    • Rare: 0.5%
    • Epic: 0.1%
    • Legendary: 0.02%

Scaling Factor

The system adjusts the rarity chances using a scaling factor based on the item’s drop chance. The scaling factor formula is:
LUA:
Scaling Factor= 100,000 / Drop Chance

Example: Plate Legs vs. Terra Legs

  • Plate Legs (49% drop chance)
    • After applying the scaling factor, you would need to kill around 4,982 Ghastly Dragons to get a legendary plate legs.
  • Terra Legs (3.13% drop chance)
    • After applying the scaling factor, the final chance of getting a legendary terra legs is approximately 1 in 5,000 kills.

Key Points:

  1. Consistency Across All Monsters: This example applies to all monsters and their respective loot. The system ensures that you need to grind a similar amount of time to loot rare, epic, or legendary gear from all types of loot.
  2. Misconception About "Printing" Items: The system is balanced to prevent easy farming of high-tier items. Even with a higher base drop chance, the rarity scaling ensures that obtaining legendary items remains challenging.

Conclusion:

  • For Plate Legs: Around 1 in 4,982 Ghastly Dragons for a legendary drop.
  • For Terra Legs: Around 1 in 5,000 Ghastly Dragons for a legendary drop.
This system, while not perfect, ensures a balanced and fair experience for all players. It can be tweaked, of course, but the current design is intended to prevent any “printing” of epic or legendary items.

So, yes, the system does ensure that obtaining legendary items, whether it’s plate legs or terra legs, requires significant effort. The goal is to maintain the challenge and excitement of looting rare items across the board.

Thank you for the feedback, and we’ll continue to refine the system as we gather more data and insights from players like you.

I think you misunderstood our point, or at least mine.
I'll try to do better in terms of explaining.

When it comes to loot, there is just simply no point of even looting items below level 50 if you have even a plate set.
It's absolutely not balanced the way you have thought it out. Lets assume you wanted this to be a 7.4 server with 9.64 sprites.
How the fuck can a level 130 mage have 500k cash + 1kk+ in items in depot?
Not only that but why would a person like that even care about selling any of the items he/she has?
At some point having an excessive amount of cash/items just ruins the entire gameplay, at least in my opinion.
There is no incentive for him to even use the trade channel unless he gets an item that fetches 50-100k+.
All those items that are necessary for levels between 20-50? Just use plate set(if ur lucky to get one), nobody sells anything else.

Also keep in mind that this server has seen 0 frags taken by anyone level 80+.
None of these high levels have even been attacked by another player for weeks, outside of their dungeon party team hunts.
How do you expect a servers economy to survive when everyone just keeps profiting every single day?

Besides, removing pretty much any kind of item reward from all the most common low level quests really fucked this up a lot.
But not even that would be a solution in itself, I firmly believe you need to start all over when it comes to balancing items.
Gold and creature products/skinning is pretty amazing tbh, you did well there. Items, not so much.

I appreciate your feedback and want to address the concerns around low-tier equipment and the game’s economy. The decision to sell lower-level items to NPCs rather than trade them is a natural outcome of supply and demand. While it might seem that lower-tier items have less value, they still serve a purpose, especially early on. Plus, you can always upgrade your Tier 1 items, like plate legs, to make them more effective as you progress.

When it comes to mid-to-end game, the need for money becomes even more critical. Upgrading items, especially Tier 3+ legendaries, requires a significant investment—sometimes upwards of 6kk to max out one single item. Maybe they are saving money for that, or who knows.

If you feel there’s something specific that isn’t well-designed about the low-tier equipment, I’d love to hear more details.
