Do you think you can make a consideration about monsters being resistant to energy/fire all the time?

As a sorc solo you will find that every second monster is resistant to fire or energy, and 1 in 10 will be resistant to both of them.

It makes exping solo very painful as now you need gfb / hmm / explos everywhere u go solo.

I dont think its a bad idea, but it would feel better if it would happen a bit less often than it does now, every second monster.. not asking to remove it, just make it slightly more rare?


We definitely want the same monsters to be variated between fire and energy in terms of immunity. This supports are design premise for unpredictability and adaptability. Remember that we have a custom spell "Incinerate" which is essentially a Fire HMM.

I have noted however for us to look into slightly lowering the chance of the immunity ability which is your proposal, I think it might be the right move as well. If we do it I'll add it to our patch notes for sure.

This server is great, it's the closest I've ever come to feeling as I used to when I was a kid first playing Tibia.
All the new mechanics the monsters have, the Elite Monsters, and the community make it extremely enjoyable.

I agree with the above completly. It's the first 7.4 server where I can see my self playing long term. The server is starting to build a really nice and diverse community, plenty of players from Europe, North and South America.

Ok I've played here from time to time for 1 month. So what I can say about server:

Pros:
  • Custom Content on old map - almost all place are rebuild and you need to learn to hunt this place other way then before. In that case it's good there are no overspawn mechanic.
  • System of Elite Monsters - sometimes too hard, and even very high level character can die because some hard monster got his elite version. But it bring new goals and fun.
  • Ambush system - Everywhere are dangers, you must be prepared for various situation on your way.
  • Semi nice community - There are bunch of active guilds you can join.
  • Exp quests for exploring map, so you don't stand in one place. It's interesting to find new places and new traps.
  • Invasion system - I think there are too many events per day, so in long term you stop to care about them. But there are many interesting thing happening.
  • You need to team up - playing alone here is senseless. Mostly you need help of other players to handel simple spawns. If I would play seriously here I would take one knight and 2nd paladin/mage to hunt stuff.

Cons:
  • GM who change his mind everytime someone cry to him something is wrong, bad designed etc. Well some changes were needed, but if changes comes every 2-3 days you start to think - does he really know what is he doing?
  • CM and GM position given just to random people in don't know what key. GM's and Cm's shall be trustworthy people not every1 who just nice chated with GM.
  • Cheaters - unfortunately there are cheaters here, so it means honest players are in disadvantage. And cheaters will play here because GM is too scared of drop player base - what is opposite, because when people see there are cheaters they just leave the server.
  • Bugs - well not very destructive, but there are bugs, bad mechanics on monsters behavior, i`m not sure - but i feel dmg and armor formulas are broken too.
  • Social rune system - totally unbalanced and break economy. On one hand you can have free runes everyday. If you are higher level you get more of them. But when you know how to play and for example you got 60lv paladin, after few days you will got 15+bp of uhs, because if you are good you wont use them at all. So in longterm hlvl knights and paladins will got so many runes and they wont need to buy most of them.
  • Additional quests unbalance - well, it shows lack of knowledge what runes/items can give to players. From some quests you can gain amazing items like 100 charge might rings, 20 x sd rune, 80 x explosion rune(around 20k worth if you would buy bp of explosion from players), 20k xp from single quest etc. Its promote people who got teams, its worth to make 1-2 good characters and later low lvl - get exp till 20lv~ in normal way and run around for all bunch of quests around and bump, u are lv 30 and rich with good items.
  • Elite Monsters, Ambush, Invasion - yeah, I think its pros - but well, sometimes people want to just chill - login and hunt for 1-2 hour. When you need to care all the time for invasions, ambush and elite apperience you cant relax in my opinion.
  • You need to team up - well, some people don't like to play with others+sometimes you wont find friends to play, because they are offline, busy etc. So in that situation you don't have many options to play/play with high waste(what isn't problem cause of social runes).
  • Economy break in longterm - atm economy of server is bad, and it will become only worse. Because higher levels and richer player will get only better benefits and low level players will had bad start, because nobody will need they runes, maybe some items from quests.

So is it worth or not? In my opinion it's very interesting server worth to try. It's something different, but you cant take it very serious because of following cons:
unbalanced exp, unbalanced economy, cheaters, GM change the rules every 3 days

Also server isn't for everyone, if it would be for honest players this is server for 50-100 ppl on peak onlines. But if GM desire to have 200-300 players, whatever they are mc, bot or normal player we have what we have.

It's nothing personal Aris, It's just opinion. I joined your server because I saw you put a lot of work on it and I respect that. I had some fun on your server, but I`m lack of time person and i`m not cheater so when I see such things happening I lose fate. Damage is done already. Anyway i wish you good luck and many players who will try out your server - because it's funny, original and there are good people playing it.

Streamers bring people only for a while, also streamers will leave when you stop pay.

Hi Lamu,

Thanks for your feedback. I agree in essense with what you said in the PROS so I'll skip to the CONS, however with one minor exception: Invasions/Raids. For now Unique Raids are only about 15% active because Dura doesn't have the Levels yet to take on higher raids. I think the frequency will feel just right when most of the raids are active and you see the same raid but rarely.

CONS:

  • As for changing things every 2-3 Days. This is the most important point I have: Dura has so much NEW in it. Because of the new systems as well as balancing introduced in many areas it is impossible to anticipate how everything will fit together. Changes to one thing changes another and in turn the changed things affects another thing -- and as you yourself know the changes are endless. It was near impossible to understand how everything would come together without it being Live. So many changes/patches have been happening on Dura, and it was necessary for balancing purposes from a design perspective as well a health perspective for the server at large. However what is true is: More and more we are stabilizing the game's design and balance with every change/patch we've done and therefore less and less changes/patches are needed. There has been a great deal of change in this first month but it has already calmed down compared to its maximum pitch and will continue to decline in it's frequency as the game goes on.
  • I only know 3 People have been given GM/CM since Release. 2 GMs and 1 CM. All of these people were on a list prior to Release for GM/CM candidacy. I am remarkably happy and proud with their actions, helpfulness, and behavior. There was one incident where one of them joined a guild who was at war with another -- not intending to take part in the war, but only being in the guild for RPG purposes mind you. However this is completely unacceptable and after this was explained to them they agreed and left the guild. A GM/CM must always be completely neutral.
  • We indeed have cheaters here as any server. But we have a zero tolerance policy for cheating and cheaters are banned daily. Indeed we are concerned about Player Count as it is integral to the health of the server but this does not in any way interfere with deleting cheaters appropriately; moreover as you've described keeping them in would do the opposite to effecting real server health and community. I saw a rumor of 30+ characters being botted on Dura at once. We've looked into this and have concluded it is just that -- a rumor. The sophistication to deal with cheating will only increase and match our work ethic to do so.
  • There are bugs, as on any server I would imagine. We did not have a small amount either, most of them as you said were not destructive, some were though, but ALL bugs found are fixed with alacrity. There actually was an error in our Damage-Reduction Formula which was rectified about one week ago; so you are right regarding that.
  • Social Runes or Realm's Aid: I don't think this breaks the economy, I think it does what it was designed to do. Allow all players, especially casuals log on each day and be able to play without feeling forced to mana-sit for 1 hour. I don't think they benefit one vocation over the other. All vocations receive the same money amount, so if there is any discrepancy it is inherent within the vocations not this system -- which there is: Mages need more fuel and still do less in 7.4. Always has been that way until you unlock their power at a higher level.
  • Experience Quests: It is now possible to only take Experience Quests if you have 33% of your total experience from killing monsters. This effectively stops abuse. This has been in-game for many weeks.
  • Rune Quests: Marginal at best. This is a low-rate server. It gives real substance to doing quests that are normally essentially worthless but in terms of effecting level or character progress it is small. Further the Runes are Soulbound so they are not abuseable by maker characters. For quests like Might Ring, which have quest-reward has a level requirement, I see no major problem with a Might Ring that has 60 charges when it is a 1x quest item that occurs over the life of a level 100 character.
  • Per economy break long-term. People still need runes everyday on Dura, desperately like all 7.4s without boosted mana regen or runes in shop. Low level players have always found buyers for their runes here, always. Realm's Aid (social runes) has a tapering effect at higher levels, you will not be able to get a higher level forever and always get higher and higher runes. The system was designed to support 1 hour of play a day without mana-sitting or relying on others -- it is doing that.

Thought I would leave a little review on the server, for players looking for something new to start or wondering about this.

I just started playing Dura a couple of days ago, honestly It's great. There are so many changes and new features to this game for example spawns, monster behavior, quests and even runes/items. I'm sure there is much more but I am still too new to comment on all.

This server manages to keep the old school feeling/mechanics as well as giving you that old noob feeling from back in the day. You remember the day where you was unsure of the map or spawns and was constantly on guard? Well this is exactly like that! I feel this server does what so many are lacking and brings back that excitement of the unknown and constantly wondering what you will face next, it takes away that usual grind you get on these low rate servers.

Honestly, I don't know these owners nor am I rewarded for giving this review. I just thought I'd let you all know what I thought about it Incase you have seen it advertised a few times and never sure whether it was for you. I finally decided to give it a go and happy I did! Good job guys.

If anyone new starts hit me up in-game, hunting together is much safer here :D

Remembering these old hunts with Behemoths in huge teams? Trying to get a Giant sword or Steel Boots?
During this hunt we faced several ambushes and one includes the old mighty Dragon Lord throwing his huge fireballs.
 
Havent checked otland for a few weeks and i must drop by and say this is looking nice,and i am more then happy to see some people still enjoy lowrate for more then wars/real copy server . I am not sure i still have the time ,patience and energy to grind oldschool low rate as i used to do but i will drop by and give it a shot. Either way i wish this project all the best.

Absolutely love Dura. Custom quests and monster mechanics are off the chain, my mind was blown when I discovered it. Exciting and suspenseful, brings back the brutality of old tibia and introduces multiple new dimensions of chaos. Anyone cares to hit me up, message Orky.
 
I am absolutely sold but I have too much lag. This server has thought of literally everything I would think of and what I seek in tibia. But we need a server in Europe please.
