Anyway I would never recommend going for a "lifetime" offer as far as hosting Services are concerned. Hosting services, Applications, Prices and hw requirements change over time and there might always be a time you wont be satisfied anymore. Also you would never know when the hosts "lifetime" ends. Generally speaking it could shut down in 5 years, maybe 10 o or maybe tomorrow?! Lifetime offers isn't something you should invest in UNLESS you acctually own the servers hw and colocate it yourself at e.g. colocrossing but that's not what your avg. customer would do.

If you are concerned about whether we take your data, then we promise not to use or distribute it in any way (and we've been trusted by many great servers before).
However, your data on the server is as secure as your scripts, so you may be hacked and your data stolen if you use faulty AAC scripts or anything like that.

As of now, new servers are provisioned using Ubuntu Server 16.04 (Xenial) LTS!

This brings a number of insignificant changes:
  • PHP 5.6 is updated to PHP 7.0
  • MySQL 5.6 is replaced with MariaDB 10
  • All software and libraries come in slightly newer versions
Nothing changes for you as our users - everything comes pre-configured, new and even better.

In case you plan to use website scripts that are incompatible with PHP 7.0, we still have a way of reinstalling your server with previous version of PHP (5.6). Just contact us via Support Chat to get it done.

Note: there is no automatic upgrades on our service. If your server was provisioned with previous Ubuntu version, nothing will change until you manually reinstall it in the control panel!

General guidelines for choosing amounts of RAM:
  • real map (100+ MB map): 5-8 GB RAM depending on number of players and MySQL optimization used
  • medium maps (30-100 MB): 3-5 GB RAM depending on number of players
  • small maps (<30 MB): 2-3 GB of RAM depending on number of players
Remember that the amount of RAM helps to increase MySQL speed and reduce lags if you have heavy MySQL operations in frequent globalactions or creaturescripts.
If you have improperly configured scripts or looped functions, the additional memory may not help you.
If your TFS always uses more than 50% of a core, there is something wrong with your scripts.

How to order ?

If you want to renew your service, make sure that "Autorenew" option is turned on and that you have enough points on your account for the next term. Your service will be renewed automatically right when it expires. This way you don't have to spend the funds until the last minute and you can use them later for any service provided by us.

If you don't renew your service before it expires, all data will be permanently deleted. It's important that you add funds to your account for renewal in time.

How to use ?
When your server is installed, you will see a page with all the details how to use the server.
You will use PuTTY (SSH client) to manage your server and WinSCP (SFTP client) to upload files.

As far as I know, they're renting their dedi directly from OVH and not through any reseller. (Much more worth it, if you simply compare the prices for a dedicated server with 32 gb ram etc. vs Don's prices).

Ox and Archlight both had mass kicks at the exact same time. Only for NA players on both my server and Ox.

Edit: Ox Server - 16:34 Support: Server did not crash. There was a network outage for some OVH routes. There will be no compensation, sorry for your loss, but it's not practical to compensate for this.

Why is this something OVH has not corrected? We have these "outages" as well 2-3 times a day for 5-6 months now. Only for NA players. How is it that this is something they havn't corrected?

We at Fortissimum have a server hosted at OVH as well, in Amsterdam. However, it's not open for the public = > we have no NA players online, so I guess that's why I/we never noticed it.


EDIT: I noticed that we had some outages ~4-5 hours ago (19:30 CEST). But that was resolved within 20 minutes.

Really weird that it is specifically happening for players in the NA region on OVH's servers.
