Patch 4.3.5 - A.K.A. The Fishing PatchNew Island - Sharktooth Island - Dozens of new houses (beachside ;)
No Spoiler Images, Sorry ;) keeping it fresh for you guys
New Interactive Fishing SystemWith this patch we are introducing Salt Water Fishing. This type of fishing requires a mechanical fishing rod (explained below) and Bait, which can be purchased from sharktooth richard. To catch Salt Water Fish you must find water where fish are splashing. When you fish up on these pools there is a 50% chance you will catch a Creature, and a 50% chance you will catch a fish below based on your fishing level, higher fishing level allows you to catch bigger and heavier fish. The rarest fish you can catch are marlins. A marlin can weigh over 400oz. To catch a marlin you must have 140+ fishing skill (this includes the bonuses from equipment).

Now, Salt Water Fish unlike normal fish have a random weight value. The weight value is important because the heavier the fish, the more you will be paid for it.

You can bring Salt Water Fish to a fisherman near the central docks, he will pay you in not only gold and silver, but he will also reward you with Character Experience and Fishing Experience. The amount he pays you is based off the weight of the fish you give him!

For every skill you have above 140 fishing, the fish you catch will be 1% heavier. For example, if you have 160 fishing, fish you catch will be 20% heavier on average. This also increases the max weight a fish could be, thus you could catch yourself a 480oz Marlin and turn it in for half a million gold.

All fish, their weight range, and the minimum fishing skill is shown below.

Patch Notes

"Hello Adventurer, I am the stronghold taskmaster. I can give you a task every 8 hours to fight back against the enemy at our door. Would you like a task?"

Stronghold will now only require prestige 1 to access instead of prestige 4. However, certain parts of the stronghold will only be available with prestige 2, 3 and prestige 4.
"Improved" Spells.
Now every prestige you achieve will give you an "improved" spell. What this means is a replacement to a current spell you have that is 10% stronger. For example, at prestige 3 archer receives - Improved Exura San - this replaces your current exura san with a slightly stronger one.
Full list of "improved" spells will be posted on the website later this week.

3 Dungeons + 4 Quests added, accessed in the stronghold.

Complete Awakening Weapon Rework
Awakening weapons will no longer have 12 tiers, but instead 4 tiers.
Awakening tier 1 will be a weak weapon (raw weapon).
You can receive an awakening tier 1 weapon from the 4 man arena.
Awakening tier 2 will be slightly stronger than donation weapon.
Crafting the tier 2 awakened weapon will require the tier 1 weapon + 4 quest items from the stronghold.
Awakening tier 3 will be slightly weaker than mastercrafted weapon.
Crafting the Tier 3 Awakened Weapon will require a Tier 2 Awakened Weapon and significant amount of void dust and ogre tools.
Awakening tier 4 will be stronger than a mastercrafted weapon.
Crafting the Tier 4 Awakened Weapon will require the Tier 3 Awakened Weapon, A Mastercrafted Weapon (the one that matches the awakened weapon), and other products **not spoiling teaser**.

Patch 4.3.7

Fishing Changes
Fishing has been very well received by the playerbase thus far, however, the one thing is some players said the diversity in fish felt a bit lacking, as its an 80% chance you will get a sandfish. We have taken that suggestion and made a few changes (also which result in an overall buff to fishing rewards)
The old breakdown of % chance to catch each fish:
Sandfish 80%
Green Perch 14%
Rainbow Trout 3%
Northern Pike 2%
Marlin 1%

Will be changed to:
Sandfish 60%
Green Perch 20%
Rainbow Trout 12%
Northern Pike 6%
Marlin 2%

Mining Changes
Due to the increase in playerbase over the past 4 weeks, we are working hard on increasing the capacity of many features on Archlight.
From now on, mining rocks will have a decreased cooldown time from a random interval of 10-15 minutes to a random interval of 3-5 minutes.

Low Level Spawn Capps + Duplicates
We will now have 12 "capped" spawns. These will be available in an extension of the new player portal. These "capped" spawns are spawns that are very beneficial for newer players, yet also heavily hunted by high level players for achievements, tasks, and other reasons. To help keep these more available for new players, we have made duplicates of 12 highly hunted spawns such as Drakens, Grim Reapers, Demons, and 9 other spawns. These "duplicate capped" spawns will have a max level to them and thus can only be entered if you are below that level. This will allow new players to level at these spawns with hopefully less traffic than the normal ones.

Useless Spells removed, some to be re-worked.
This patch you will notice many "useless" spells will have been removed or reworked. This is to relieve the clutter that are high amount of custom spells has caused, and hopefully be less confusing for a new player joining Archlight. Some other spells will be being reworked in the near future such as exploding spear.
Coming in Patch 4.3.8 (In near future)
riftsteaser.png

Rifts we're made to represent an opening between the Archlight world and an "other world". Rifts started out small, but now are 10x folding in size. We are currently remapping all the rifts to show the entire rift world and not just a small portion of it. Rifts will last for 55 minutes long and open every 4 hours. These rifts will not be simple like the current rifts - go kill mobs for task, kill boss, and leave - no no, they will contain story missions, multiple different bosses in the world you enter, different jobs to complete, many new areas, tunnels, caves, mountain tops to explore, over 16 different monsters in each rift world, and hidden places.

So i am curious and have been wondering, why does on otservlist it says 207 players online and on site it says 664? If its cause of people afk'ing in trainers i thought that was against the rules?

The amount reported to OTServerlist is the total of active players currently. The online count on the website for the server includes players x logged in trainers who are still technically online... This obviously isn't passed onto the OTServerlist count because that would be unfair.

Exactly, similar to servers like gunzodus and noxious, it allows players to afk train 24 hours a day without needing a bot to be connected.

So for example today when we had 270 online otservlist, and 650 on website, 270 were playing where the others were training.

Some servers do not report characters that are training, but if the server is newer/small enough they sometimes fly under the radar
