In response to a couple of things:
The story-line is actually quite in-depth if you read the books and continue on with the story as you learn that Ferumbras has a bit of a different life than you'd expect. Also, we have a whole lore section written up that we are starting to work more into the server as well:

We do not have any teleports to exp/quest grounds at all aside for random ones throughout the map that add adventure, not anything in the depot or temples that really take you anywhere special.
We also have weapons/armor in game that are comparable to the donation items, with some new ones coming out soon that will actually be slightly better than the ones available to donors (aside for the bonuses such as additional swording...etc)
We are slowly adding more to the story-line for what comes after the whole Ferumbras bit, geared more towards higher levels and also branching out from our main story-line to add side quests such as assassin's guild. We also have a few more guilds coming in as soon as Orky can finish writing them up and we can get them scripted.
if server got:
weapons/armors in gift shop
teleports to exp/quest grounds - i know you can travel by foot but srsly, who does that if there are tp's -
