Shading!

Can some post a spriting tutorial on the process of shading weapons armors etc on photoshop?
I am having a hard time being able to choose colors and sometimes i use the burn and dodge tool but dont get the results i want.

There are several tibia sprite YouTube videos you can use as example how other people do it.

Burn tool usually doesn't create the colors you want so that is indeed not always useful.
I personally use the inkt tool sometimes (dunno how it's called in ps), I select a different color and use it to kind of paint over other colors, so it doesn't cover the other color 100%.
