Necronia - Discussion

It's been a while since we last posted and a lot of stuff happened meanwhile: our host got repaired and upgraded, we had some new mapping work done as well as new sprites, some bugs fixed, and probably what you look forward to the most - a new class rework completed!

The next reveal will feature Spearman, and until then, enjoy this extremely fun class:

Toooot.. Thats to funny :)

Looking good. Do these class reveals mean that you finished the vocation, or is it just the concept of the vocation?

It essentially means that the class as a whole is complete. Besides for maybe the outfits on some classes (As Shiva wants to focus on finishing the vocations before the sprites).

Sweet, the progress is quite impressive then. Does somebody know how many vocations are yet to be made, and what the main workload is after the vocations?

Attention, Furians!

As of yesterday, the Silverdragon Crusade launched an experimental facility on Funkenerg in order to learn more about how each class handles its powers and abilities. They are searching for amibitious young adventurers who will help with the experiment.

You can read more about each class on our newly edited Vocations page.
Click on the image to go there.

In order to enter the facility, you need to be level 1. You can talk to their representative in Bawfuria, Joseph - and he will take you to the facility if you meet the requirement. He's located in the Bawfuria Library, just downstairs of the temple.

The SDC provides you with all the supplies and a skill boost in order to test your class easier. You will receive:

* A level boost to level 50.
* A skill boost for each of your skills.
* Access to a room full of various equipment that you can take at will.
* Access to a training room, as well as a skirmish room with a slightly rabid silverdragon.

Once you're in the facility, your character will be stuck there for an unforeknown period of time. The SDC promises to take care of their test subjects and provide them with constantly changing supplies, entertainment and safety.

In the facility, by going up the second stairs, you will find a scientist named Peter. Talk to him in order to switch your class.

Do good and do well!

We must ensure that no class is overpowered.
A list of known bugs and unfinished features of classes can be found here on our forum. (link opens in new window)

Please, use this forum page to report all the bugs and faults related to these classes instead of the CTRL+Z panel.

In other news, we're preparing for the 1.09 update which will bring out several fixes for some client bugs (some items not displaying correctly in look window, Hunter icon not displaying correctly in look window, etc.) and updates for several sprites, as well as fulfill the requirements that we need in order to finalize our changes to the 3 systems that are blacksmithing, lumberjacking and mining.

We've already applied crucial changes to the lumberjacking system, making it operate on experience like blacksmithing does. All currently cuttable trees have their own skill requirement and experience value, however, most of the trees currently found on Bawfuria require some skill to be cut. In order to help out the newcomers and make lumberjacking (on start) easier, we'll make some bushes cuttable and include more small trees into the frame.
However, we can only do this in 1.09 because it requires some new sprites.
So until 1.09, take note that beginning to lumberjack might be more difficult.

For more information about this change to the lumberjacking system, check our new library post here.

The blacksmithing system also has several changes planned for it. We're planning to make the interface more comfortable for usage by adding filters and sorting methods so you can find what you're looking for easier. We'll also be changing the experience table for the system to make it fair (The way it currently is was also made as a place-holder until we come up with a good formula, and I think we have, but it still needs some internal checking).

That's it for now!
Stay tuned for the changes, and look forward to 1.09 when we're bringing all these necessary fixes and releasing a new class: Spearman.

You can see all vocations that are currently released here: http://necronia.com/vocations.php#menuVocs

And after them, we have to polish a couple of systems and release/test content of Avernum, then we'll be good to go.

I was too busy this week, totally missed the opportunity to give away some beta keys for thanksgiving, but we'll make up for it next week with a small event and give away a couple of keys.

Thanks for following our progress!

Fantastic job, since im checking the topic and ur forums i sitll see no keys available for us :(

We had some consultations and decided that we'll give out some keys. But since we're working on an update that will change some core mechanics at the moment, we'll wait until we release the update before we give out those keys. Give us a few more days and we'll announce some kind of a giveaway event! :)

I would literally kill someone for a key!

O-okay...

In my opinion it should be key giveaway for peoples who actually are active in this topic and necronia forum.
cheers
