Real tibia is going down, what will happen to OTs?

Cipsoft isn't a charitable foundation. Keeping servers costs.

im not talking about cipsoft, if they even cared about there fanbase they would have proper maintenance to stop botting and actually put the effort in to make it a fair game, but they dont.

by money making scheme I meant people who just use bots get a character to level 100+ or whatever then sell it for euros or dollars etc, they dont do it to play, just to make profit (players) someone tell me im wrong, even if you do bot it and play you end up selling it anyway........

Personally, i have played tibia alot and understood the circle of what has happened. It only seems that cipsoft is trying to improve now, it is clearly a game they will try to keep to public because it has been a success to them so far. To them it isn't based on if there is enough players, it's if they make profit! And honestly until that dies out, it might be 5-10 years. But for ot purpose, never will go down! It will be just like now, because we play ots and dont even think of rl tibia as i am typing this now. So don't worry, not yet!

Making a 7.4 server or anything under there current version for that matter, is something they'd never do, not because they can't or that they'd miss out on other updates they've done, it's purely because it'd be admitting to themselves that all they've done upto now is bad, useless & complete crap..

I personally don't think an older version of tibia would do well anyway, Cip still have no sure method against bots, tibia would just be the same as it is now but older looking, Tibianic-HR before it's update is a perfect example, it was just filled with people botting it was barely any fun at all unless you did the same thing so many people left after the first month.
Now they've updated, no one will really go out of there way to make a bot for it because it's an OT, but on realtibia it'd be a complete different story.

I personally don't think tibia will die though, not for along time, more in the time frame of scarlets guess i'd say, 5/10 years, there new server was built to test updates before they're released, they are just now thinking "Are our updates really this bad?" hopefully they get wise, & revert some of the stupid shit they've done to pvp, that'll bring at least afew players back.

They were working on a 3D game or machine or something, dunno if they making a new 3D game.

I don't see how offline training is bad? Cipsoft didn't invent skilling. The player did. So this is a way for tibia to be more fun? Who wants to create a knight and spend 2 weeks straight (like i did) to get 70/70 skills. If i hadn't i could be level 50-60 by now.

This is just stubborn people not liking change. If u ask me, i think tibia is slowly gaining back its player base (since there was a time i wiuld never settle for real...andlook now i'm back on the real hype.)

Thats a good point, but at this time people like me, like you that spend weeks and weeks training for get good skills will be fools, you and me put a big effort on that character to have good skills and cipsoft tell me that everybody can beat me sleeping in a bed instead of be in a computer 4-5 hours per day only see a fkin pixel hitting slimes?, thats not fair, this feature was added to keep botters off from dummies, so i keep my point, tibia is dying, and the reason are the idiots who can't use the keyboard and the mouse instead of a bot

They were working on a 3D game or machine or something, dunno if they making a new 3D game.

Is in beta right now, i test it, but is really bored, is like a RPG neopets

God, I'm insanely burnt out about hearing people say that "Now Tibia is dead" with each update. That and "WHY DON'T YOU FIX THE BOTTING PROBLEM INSTEAD OF RELEASING USELESS UPDATES?" are really starting to make me irate.

i know that feeling bro...
this offline train was a stepp closer from being away from bots...
next uppdate with content was just more fun to play and more quests and items to get...

i actually dont even produce a sentence referring to anything you just said. <3

Tibia is dead... Now is only $$$$$$$$ fun, pvp, adventure, no more. Golden age of tibia was 7.1 to 7.6 Tibia Need only 1 update for year, not winter, summer, + bugs fixes, = many clients :S

Sorry for my bad english.

LMAO!

read the tittle, thats not the point of this thread, we are talking about what will happen to OPEN TIBIA SERVERS, i don;t care if cipsoft made a shit their game, but if we want to take a look to every point we should talk about the problems on tibia rl, i only said that i start on 7.4 and then one guy said that cipsoft should make a old server, i already said it, that idea is ridiculus, so don't get mad and post something usefull

In my point of view tibia wont die out within the next 5 years... They still can get rid of the botters. Offline training was alrdy a step as someone mentioned above ;)
Anyway OTS wont die!
But Otland community could prepare a great real map project( i thunk i wont join in, tired of that stuff, but others may), which one day might replace rltibia and then try to get all rl tibia players addicted to this ot, by advertising it in every rl tibia forum :)

Yes tibia have lost arround 20 to 30 k of active players, but take a look in the account's deleted for using unnoficial software to play, many of that 30k active players are bot conected while the owner are in a real life party. and many are using MC and put 3 or 4 characters to bot, i think tibia isnt falling like you said, i think tibia is just debuggin all game worlds, and te rest of these 60k active players (like you said that are in old times), they are real players and not many boters.

that's what I think

I've played tibia since 2005. even tho i quit 2 years ago, i personally think that i've achieved everything that's achieveable in this game (i've played in high competitive teams and fought real wars, completed all quests at that time, etc...) and this is my conclusion after all these years.
If CipSoft ever gets rids of botter, the game will die. Because of the way this game is designed, i cant see a world were ppl aren't allowed to bot. Having to play 5h+ to get from lvl 150 to lvl 151 is not fun. The fun part of tibia is, for some ppl hunting in fun places, for some other ppl is fighting wars and for other ppl is completing quests... None of that stuff is even possible if you're not high enough level which makes botting a vital part of this game.

Tibia is a very fun game when you're not leveling up, but you cannot have fun without leveling up. It's like the fish that bites his own tail.
If they want to keep tibia alive they should stop focusing on getting rid of botters and focus on making the post-botting experience more fun (make more quests, fun hunting places, random events that you cannot control with bots etc...)

this is just the honest opinion of someone who's seen this game in and out, someone who has quit and made a comback and someone who's played an insane amount of hours playing this game as well as botting.

I agree with the person above me.

Who enjoys wasting 12 hours of there time just to earn a level?

In the older clients, it was fun to play with your hands, just making runes while watching a movie, it was a nice peaceful thing.. wars were occuring.. people training they're pvp skills, and so many things that I forgot about.

But personally, I don't think Tibia will die out for a while.. maybe in 5 years, but they already met they're highest level and will move on to a new game, keeping they're profit.

Tibia has already been around for nearly 21 years, made over 30 million.. it's successful and you cannot say anything about it.

This. Botting is pretty much a part of the game now and if cipsoft did found a way to get rid of all the botters the game would lose more players than it would earn(and ofc they don't want that, losing players = losing money). They needed to do something alot earlier against botting, right now the only solution is making the game more fun when leveling as you said.

And saying tibia is dead is dumb, there's still a lot of active players around 30k online all the time, that is actually a quite big amount if you compare it to other games. There's games running with 500 active players and even those games aren't dead.
