OtLand OpenTibia has moved to Github!

OpenTibia has now moved to github for future development.

You can find the new project at https://github.com/opentibia , with a new sleek interface and all that jazz.

There is also a wiki available at github at https://github.com/opentibia/server/wiki , while humble now, in the future, server documentation, guides and information on how to contribute will be available on github as well. If you'd like to contribute, just register an account at github and start editing!

It's worth noting that new development will focus on the revscriptsys branch of OpenTibia. This means the new project is not backwards-compatible with older servers and data folders. For those of you who depend on that, you should move to distributions based on OTServ 0.6.3. 0.6.3 has can be found under the 'legacy' branch.

The old SVN repository on Sourceforge has been shut down. If you want to access the legacy branch you can download a zip file here: https://github.com/opentibia/server/zipball/legacy

Very nice!

Sorry, gonna go offtopic for this question;
Does anybody know what TFS's stance on revscriptsys in the future?

Can't wait to convert to this when stable. Good luck Remere and all OpenTibia Devs.

what is the current state of the new "opentibia" what needs to be done, i would love to contribute.

Great.
I think that Git is better than Subversion.

Some people don't like change don't be naive.

Also the phrase is new label/look same great taste

Yay, there is lots to be done. I've created a roadmap article here: https://github.com/opentibia/server/wiki/Roadmap It's quite bare-bones as of yet.

Just adding stuff to the wiki would be a great start, any article is appreciated, from compiling to adding new monsters etc. Only restriction is it should be centered around master, not legacy.

What Libraries are required to Compile the current MainBranch.

I see that these are required, But what more?
GMP
LUAJit
MySQL
SQLite
BoostLib

i dont understand this :p
whats gonna happen now? open tibia will re-style or something? all scripts will change? whats gonna happen with TFS servers?

TFS will not fork revscriptsys.

You will need to rewrite all your scripts. I will still be maintaining TFS 0.2, but once I start actively working on revscriptsys I will not update TFS 0.2 as much. By the time enough users have switched to revscriptsys, TFS development will probably cease (I expect that to be by mid/late 2013 or early 2014) unless someone else wants to continue it but I would rather see the effort put into revscriptsys than continuing TFS development as revscriptsys is now the mainline of otserv and TFS is based on legacy code.

Nothing will change for users

The github change? Not that much will change for end-users unless they want to contribute. At GitHub they can fork the repository and create pull requests which is superior to submitting patches when Subversion was used on SourceForge.

Revscriptsys? A lot will change. It's still Lua, but the scripts for revscriptsys are very different.

As long as OpenTibia doesn't die at the end of TFS, I'm sure everything will be alright.
Glad you're taking part of revscriptsys, I remember hearing about it on OTfans many years ago.
