I've noticed that the last few days people are making new accounts and posting viruses and other programs that will ruin your computer, I've made this thread to warn people about it and how to avoid getting those annoying viruses and other malware.

Between 22-24 February it will be the days of carnival, the logo of Otland has been adapted to carnival theme and wanted to tell you that the second anniversary in may of Otland is coming soon and we're about to adding some new modifications aswell (including some kind of 'Modbot') that you might expect soon enough!

After another discussion in our staff board we decided to reorganize the forum again. In the Community section we separated the most active prefixes into forums since it was quite a mess inside the Chat section. The hosted project boards can be accessed by Quick Links -> Hosted Project Boards in the navigation bar which also was reorganized.

After a period of time we have noticed that many people are posting stuff in the wrong board and we want to remind you that this is an OpenTibia-related forum therefore posts about specific otservers should be kept in one of our
Hosted Project Boards or in the Advertisement Board. If we see these posts in the wrong board then an action will be taken so please think twice before you submit your thread! This also means for other posts that are in a wrong board.

After having the application board open for over a month it's time to accept some new board moderators to help us keep OtLand clean from spam.

We got some issues with the server we have been using during the hardware upgrade and until it will be working again we are using Cato's server to host OtLand.

Cato has also been temporarly promoted to an administrator during this time. We're sorry for the downtime and OtLand will be moved back to the old server again as soon as it is working again.

We have finally purchased the vBulletin Project Tools, it will make it alot easier to handle bug reports, feature requests and tasks in projects.

We have placed subforums which redirects to the Project Tools for the OpenTibia project and for The Forgotten Server project.

OpenTibia developers can either reply in this thread or send me a private message if they're interested in having access to handle reports and feature requests there.

It was the midnight between 27th and 28th May, one year ago, OtLand was formed by Talaturen, and Kornholijo. We did not expect OtLand to grow this large, but thanks to you members, donators and staff members for supporting us we were able to switch from the forum software MyBB to vBulletin and purchase the Galaxy theme from ForumThemes.

For the second time, we've decided to reorganize the forum. We are now making more use of the thread prefix system which was introduced in vBulletin 3.7. We hope that it will be easier and less confusing to find things.

Besides that all Board Moderators has been promoted to Global Moderators and tomorrow there'll be around three new Board Moderators. We'd also like to inform you about that we have affiliated with OTS List (http://www.ots-list.org), an OpenTibia Serverlist maintained...

 

Last night there was an unexpected downtime on OtLand for approx three hours due to an issue with the server. We're sorry for that. During the downtime we switched from the unstable (Sid) distribution of Debian GNU/Linux to the stable one (Etch). This also fixed some other issues we had on the server such as dpkg (Debians Package Manager) being broken, so now we can really keep things up to date, so we hope that this will increase the stability of the server even more (before the reboot we...

 

The maintenace for a few minutes today was done because of upgrading to vBulletin 3.7 Beta.

Please report all bugs you find in this threads here and we'll fix the bugs caused by us and the other bugs will be forwarded to vBulletins developers, please also include which template you're using if you're going to post about a bug you found.

After another Staff Discussion of new board moderators we decided to promote...

Next weekend we will introduce an arcade system on the forum and also patch some minor changes in the forum structure.

Today, OtLand was unavailable for an hour due to maintenace...

What we did during the maintenace was to patch some minor changes we planned in the forum structure, update plugins we have installed and make it easier for moderators to handle reported posts. The arcade system we mentioned in the previous news post has not been added yet because of some issues we didn't manage to fix, we will be trying to solve it and hopefully the arcade system can be seen on OtLand next weekend.

After some days of Staff Discussion about a new forum structure, and other changes, we finally patched the changes that we've been planning.

We hope that those changes doesn't cause too much confusion and that you still can find the right board for things, unregistered users will now be able to view the forum without a membership but can not download attachments which registered users will be able to.
