How to make a server handle as much players as possible?

Hello, Just as the thread says. I've got a server upcoming soon, We're currently making on our map.

Anyhow, let's say I want to get as much members as possible without lags?
Which parts of the computer do I have to rely on the most then?
So I know which one to upgrade etc, if necessary.

Please give me advices & tips

RAM + Upload speed + operating system on the hosting machine play the biggest role.

Processor have bigger role than RAM

But of course, without any of them nothing will work
